About The Position

ARO is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Mail Clerk to join our team. The Mail Clerk is responsible for the daily collection, sorting, and delivery of mail and packages across our campus facilities. This role requires the use of client vehicles to transport items between buildings and departments in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate takes pride in consistent attendance, works well independently, and maintains a professional yet approachable demeanor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (subject to verification and ongoing review).
  • Ability to safely operate various types of vehicles on campus grounds.
  • Must be dependable with excellent attendance — consistent, on-time attendance is essential to this role.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong self-motivation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for logging deliveries and scanning packages.
  • Effective communication skills and a professional, courteous attitude.
  • Must be able to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and be physically active throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior mailroom, delivery, or logistics experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and interoffice correspondence to designated departments and individuals.
  • Collect outgoing mail and packages from departments across campus for processing and shipment.
  • Operate client-owned vehicles (cars, vans, golf carts, etc.) to deliver and pick up mail and packages throughout the campus.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, tracking records, and signature confirmations as required.
  • Ensure all mail and packages are handled with care and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assist with mailroom operations including metering, stamping, and preparing bulk mailings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mailroom, delivery vehicle, and work area at all times.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, or delivery issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Accept and sign for courier and freight deliveries as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and overall operations.
