About The Position

To assist the Lead Person in the processing of all incoming and outgoing mail.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience as determined by Human Resources.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 6 months in a mail processing environment.
• Understanding of the United States Postal Service regulations preferred, proficient working with a PC and Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable working in a team environment, strong customer service skills, effective working independently, ability to regularly life 30lbs.

Responsibilities

• Applies proper postage to 1st Class and Standard A/B mail, including letters and flats, using an automated mail/meter machine.
• Sorts, weighs, collates, and prepares all mailings as required by the United States Postal Service Domestic Mail Manual.
• Assists in the preparation of all mailings using automation software and hardware to ensure the lowest cost to the college.
• Processes 1st Class and Standard mailings, including bulk and non-profit, using two styles of inserting machines.
• Assists in the production of 1st Class and Standard A/B mailings by printing an automated Delivery Point Barcode on mail using United States Postal Service certified software and hardware.
• Assists Lead Person in downloading of electronic files from the Triton RALPH System to import into mail automation databases for Postal Coding and Presorting.
• Assists in the preparation of United States Postal Service statements for all 1st Class and Standard A/B mailings using postal coding software and hardware (Windows Network PC).
• Delivers processed mail to the United States Post Office.
• Equipment Operated: Paragon Mail Machine, 4 Station Inserter/Folder, Folding Machine, Postal Scale, Windows PC, Wafer Tabbing Machine, Hand Truck, W-900 Barcoding Printer, College Vehicle
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
