The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or numerically controlled machines to produce a variety of diversified finished parts that meet quality standards. This role involves performing work from standard and complex drawings, instruction sheets, charts and/or verbal instructions, working to close tolerances. The Machinist will set up, run and adjust machine tools and equipment, make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards, and properly select, align, secure and remove fixtures, tools, accessories, and materials. They will also debug and edit CNC programs in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, follow standard work procedures, and perform first and last piece inspections. Routine preventative maintenance, maintaining 6S standards for housekeeping, and recommending method changes for process improvement are also key responsibilities.
