ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and Company safety standards. Plan and execute machining tasks by studying work orders, blueprints, and specifications; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Configure and operate CNC machines, mills, and lathes by entering instructions, setting parameters, and verifying settings. Maintain quality standards by observing operations, taking measurements, troubleshooting processes, and adhering to quality assurance procedures. Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality. Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping to ensure good quality and safe operation. Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing problems and report material shortages. Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.). Use personal hand tools and work with both metric and inch systems. Submit daily time accounting, payroll information, and other required paperwork.

Requirements

  • Journeyman, Machinist, or Tool and Die maker certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in machining
  • Proficiency in operating CNC equipment, including boring mill
  • Ability to produce machined parts, including prototype equipment, with minimal supervision
  • Expertise in manufacturing three-dimensional holding and punch tooling, mold modification or repair, and special tooling for blow molding process
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills
  • Ability to work with both metric and inch systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards
