We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Machinist with experience operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as manual machine tools. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from prints, setting up jobs, holding tight tolerances, and producing quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports both production and short-run / repair work. Shift Hours are Monday-Friday 1:45PM-10:15PM

Requirements

  • Experience running CNC milling and turning equipment
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes
  • Ability to hold close tolerances and perform precision work
  • Strong understanding of machining fundamentals (feeds, speeds, tooling, materials)
  • Ability to read blueprints and use standard inspection tools
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently on 2nd shift

Nice To Haves

  • CNC setup experience
  • Experience with short-run or job shop work
  • Experience with precision grinding (surface or cylindrical)
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes
  • Operate manual mills, manual lathes, drill presses, band saws, and precision grinding equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Select proper tooling, fixtures, and measuring equipment
  • Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, etc.)
  • Make basic program edits at the machine as needed (offsets, wear, minor changes)
  • Maintain part quality and meet production requirements
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
  • Communicate issues related to tooling, materials, or machine performance to supervision
