About The Position

American Fan is a manufacturer of air movement equipment for Industrial, HVAC, Commercial, Marine, and specialty markets. Our sales distribution base consists of a diverse group of knowledgeable agents/representatives. Together with our in-house sales staff they deliver a very high level of customer service. As an Experienced Machinist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of American Fan’s manufacturing processes by operating CNC machines, lathes, brake presses and support fabrication tasks in a fast paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of machining experience (CNC mills, lathes, manual machines preferred).
  • Skilled in G&M code editing, reading blueprints, and interpreting X, Y, Z coordinates.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to troubleshoot, adjust speeds/feeds, and perform setups independently.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC mills, lathes, and other machines (3- or 4-axis).
  • Program, monitor, and adjust machines to ensure top-quality output.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide your work.
  • Use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure precision.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot machines, including minor repairs and tooling upkeep.
  • Perform fabrication tasks like cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
  • Collaborate with the team on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
