About The Position

This position is responsible for making needed components and critical parts in the Department of Maintenance. The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies, Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
• Five years of experience as a machinist, or machinist certification with three years of experience
• Some knowledge of automated control systems
• Experience on a continuous process manufacturing line preferred
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Manufacturing Experience
• Forklift or other equipment experience
• Communication Skills
• Computer Skills if applicable
• Ability to work with others and in team environment, or as an individual
• Follow all Company Policies / Procedures
• Professionalism and Respect towards all members of Spuntech Team
• Provide mentorship as needed
• Diligence in Quality and Safety in all areas of your work performance and practices

Nice To Haves

• Experience on a continuous process manufacturing line preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.
• Support the company’s quality and safety initiatives.
• Abide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
• Fabricate, maintain, and repair metal objects through the operation of lathes, shapers, planers, milling machines, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and similar equipment.
• Measure work carefully by using precision tools.
• Perform milling and lathe work on such equipment as pumps, valves, pistons, and other plant equipment.
• Work with maintenance team to analyze and minimize mechanical downtime and contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Be available for rotating on-call duty on nights and weekends to assist production in the event of a serious mechanical breakdown.
• Keep work stations and tools clean, neat, and organized.
