About The Position

Mativ is a global leader in specialty materials headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world. We are looking to fill our 1st Shift (6am-230pm), 2nd Shift ( 2:00pm -11”30pm) and 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am) schedules. Description Machinist is responsible for the setup, programming and operation of a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts from the raw material stage to finished goods ensuring customer specifications are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 3 years related experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of operating processes and equipment
  • Good math skills with analytical abilities
  • Strong reading skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • High attention to detail
  • Regularly required to use hands and stand for long periods of time.
  • Lifting and moving up to 50lbs
  • Attention to detail.
  • CNC machine skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CNC programming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations.
  • Develop, write and monitor programs in preparation for setup.
  • Set up machine, including necessary adjustments according to order specifications.
  • Start and shut down machines according to procedure.
  • Determine feeds and speeds on the machines.
  • Select tools and materials needed for each job according to specifications.
  • Develop, write and monitor programs.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machines to order specifications.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain production reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints to specifications and determine type and dimensions of all stock required to complete the job.
  • Observe and listen to machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine need for adjustments.
  • Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunction.
  • Maintains and lubricates machines and equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Read measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, height gage, bore gage and groove micrometers, and measure and inspect parts.
  • Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean area and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
