Requirements

  • 1 to 2 or more years of machining experience required
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following required: Grinding, Prototrak Milling (conversational), CNC Milling, or CNC Lathe
  • Working knowledge of G and M code programming (required for CNC Mill and CNC Lathe roles)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25lbs
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motion
  • Fine motor skills and close visual attention required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Prototrak conversational controls preferred for milling; Fanuc, Milltronics, or Okuma preferred for CNC roles

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate surface and/or cylindrical grinding machines
  • Dress and true grinding wheels for optimal cut quality
  • Hold tight tolerances on hardened and difficult-to-machine materials
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, indicators, and surface comparators
  • Maintain grinding equipment and ensure coolant systems are functioning properly
  • Set up and operate Prototrak-controlled milling machines using conversational programming
  • Program milling operations conversationally at the control; edit and troubleshoot existing programs
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job
  • Perform in-process inspection using precision measurement tools
  • Set up and operate 3-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers
  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot G and M code programs
  • Work with Fanuc, Milltronics, Okuma or similar controls
  • Perform tool offsets, work coordinate setup, and probing routines
  • Run first articles and make program adjustments to hit print dimensions
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes including 2-axis and live tooling configurations
  • Program lathe operations using G and M code or conversational controls
  • Manage inserts, boring bars, and tooling selection for optimal results
  • Produce lathe parts to tight diameter and length tolerances
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM as needed
  • Set up, program, and operate a variety of machining equipment
  • Troubleshoot programs and machining processes
  • Select and manage tooling for optimal performance
  • Produce parts within tight tolerances and specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T callouts to produce parts to print
  • Maintain production documentation such as work orders and time sheets
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow all safety guidelines and equipment protocols
  • Communicate proactively with leadership and team members on job status, tooling needs, and quality concerns
