About The Position
This role involves operating various machines to manufacture parts according to specifications. The machinist will be responsible for planning the sequence of operations, selecting appropriate tools and machines, and ensuring the quality and consistency of the output. Routine machine maintenance and safe operation are also key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years + of experience in a manual machine shop or tool room department
- 5 years + with Lathers, Mill and Grinders
- Experience manufacturing tooling fixtures
- Experience reading blueprints and work instructions in English
- Experience with measuring devices to ensure the quality of the manufactured components
Responsibilities
- Review drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
- Select appropriate machines (Lathes, Mill, grinder) and load material.
- Select tools and cutting conditions.
- Define and manufacture tooling fixture/JIG required to manufacture the parts.
- Check output to ensure consistency.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
- Operate the machines safely.
