About The Position

S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Metal Finishing Operations department as a Machinist. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job, you will primarily be responsible for operating automated and manual machines as part of a sheet metal processing cell. Machines include automated punching, forming and laser cutting machines as well as manual and automated hydraulic press brakes. You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and a full range of motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.

Requirements

Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to use or learn how to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, protractors and tape measures.
Ability to learn machine controls and programs
High School diploma / GED

Nice To Haves

1 year of machinist and manufacturing experience a plus
Relevant Work Experience
Experience with set-up and operation of computer-controlled punching, cutting, forming machines, or press brakes

Responsibilities

Use of computer-controlled sheet metal processing machines to produce of high-quality parts by reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
Using simple material handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle sheet-metal stock ranging from 30 lbs. to 150 lbs.
Inspecting parts using various measurement tools.
