Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Journeyman Tool & Die Certification.
5-7 years related experience
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge and ability to successfully use all traditional machine shop equipment including, but not limited to surface grinders, lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.

Nice To Haves

Documented maintenance training or welding certification preferred

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Maintain and repair tooling including, but not limited to, roll form tooling, cut-off dies, pre-pierce dies and stamping dies.
Ability to machines die components from raw materials.
Ability to troubleshoot and correct tooling problems.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Diagnose electrical or mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking Blueprints, electrical schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Responsible for installation of large and small pipe, conduit, and sealtite; wire pulling for electrical, computer, and phone systems.
Coordinate and work with production and engineering to develop and schedule timelines for new equipment installations and repairs.
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Inventory control, stocking, quoting, and replenishment activities.
