About The Position

Pentair is hiring a Machinist for its Delavan, Wisconsin team. The role performs operations to set up, gauge, and production-run castings on a CNC lathe or mill. The position uses standardized and clear setup and operating procedures and requires the ability to read part drawings using GD&T, use precision measuring gauges, and maintain coolant ratios and levels. The schedule is 1st shift, 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available. The stated hourly pay is $28–$30, depending on experience, with the possibility of a rate increase after proficiency in certain skills and completion of training. A $1,000 hiring bonus is paid in two installments, subject to repayment if employment ends within one year of the hire date.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of CNC mill and lathe setup and operation experience.
• GD&T and print comprehension.
• Understanding of shop math.
• Ability to multitask to keep production running smoothly.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, twisting at the waist, and lifting and lowering weights up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines where details and operating procedures are standardized and obvious.
• Use CNC equipment, manual machines, precision measuring equipment, overhead hoists, hand tools, power tools, air tools, and a refractometer.
• Read part drawings using GD&T.
• Use precision measuring gauges to check dimensions.
• Maintain proper coolant ratios and levels and perform autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Perform operations to face, turn, bore, chamfer, groove, thread, drill, tap, and deburr a variety of materials and parts.
• Multitask to keep production running smoothly.
