The primary purpose of the Machinist is to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts. This role adheres to Integer Values and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies, operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements. The Machinist is accountable for meeting cycle time and yield expectations, operating and setting up CNC shop equipment with minimal assistance, and potentially operating more than one machine simultaneously. Responsibilities include sharpening and changing tooling, making offset adjustments, monitoring equipment, presetting tooling, maintaining tooling according to guidelines, troubleshooting problems, deburring/buffing/sanding parts, verifying documentation revision levels, completing and verifying all applicable documentation, and visually and/or dimensionally inspecting parts using a microscope and/or completed product for conformance to specifications. The role also involves identifying and escalating quality non-conformances, following quality procedures for traceability and segregation of materials, practicing lean manufacturing principles, performing preventative machine maintenance, expanding skill base through training, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
