About The Position
The Machinist Technician is primarily responsible for evaluating and diagnosing causes for Electric motors and gearboxes and repairs. Millwright experience is an asset.
Requirements
- Certified Machinist with Millwright experience
- Good working knowledge of Motors and Generators.
- Bearing removal, fit measurements of journals and housings and installation of new bearings.
- Strong working knowledge of heavy-duty tools and manual lathes.
- Must be mechanically inclined with a good learning capacity.
- The ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
- Service and team orientation

- Millwright experience is asset.
Responsibilities
- Complete dismantle and inspection of Electric motors, Electric Generators and other mechanical equipment.
- Complete a comprehensive Inspection and test report with accurate measurements related to these components.
- Take pictures during job process.
- Build, repair, service, and troubleshoot various motors and generators.
- Tests rebuild components or systems to acceptable results.
- Always maintain cleanliness of shop and work area to ensure the maintenance of a safe work environment, performing various cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Follow Quality Assurance and Safety programs.
- Additional responsibilities, as requested.
