Requirements

Knowledge about geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Possess intermediate math skills for measurement, testing and problem resolution.
Solid working knowledge of machine tools/parts, set up, operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as grinding and milling machines, to cut and produce precision manufactured parts.
Repairs or produces parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements based on blueprints and/or technical drawings.
Responsible for overall work assignments under the supervision of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader.
Works safely following all health, safety and environmental rules and policies.
Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity as set forth in our Code of Conduct.
Effectively participates in a team environment that promotes the company’s goals and objectives.
Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
Solves problems using appropriate critical thinking skills.
Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Continually looks for ways to increase efficiency and productivity, while maintaining the required level of quality.
Maintains a high level of quality and attention to detail in close tolerance manufacturing.
Replaces cutting tools as required to meet product conformity.
Safely operates overhead cranes.
Displays proficiency in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth) calipers, pi tapes, etc. and hand tools including layout tools, grinders, drills, wrenches, mallets, etc.
Reads and interprets documents such as blueprints, work orders and manuals.
Changes cutting tools and adjusts machine feeds and speeds as needed.
Works effectively with minimal supervision.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
Completes required inspection documentation reports.
Receives priorities, instructions, and assignments from supervisor.
Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.
Maintains good housekeeping practices.
Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Performs other duties as directed.
Safely and efficiently sets up and operates all common machine tools engine lathes.
Machines parts using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses manually.
Performs simple to complex machine setups with little to no assistance.
Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Works independently, but also demonstrates an ability to work productively within the department team.
Works with Machinist III and Process Engineers to improve Cell processes.
Troubleshoots problems under the guidance of Machinist III.
Suggests changes that improve safety and boost productivity.
