Requirements

  • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required, you should have the ability to travel within US and Canada
  • High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years’ work-related experience
  • Proficiency using Surfcam for machine programming
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC machines and associated tooling
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blue prints, drawings, and models
  • Organizational/prioritization skills
  • Interpersonal/communications (written and verbal) skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Telephone, fax, copier experience
  • Proficient with use of micrometers, calipers and calibrating them
  • Minor assembly/disassembly knowledge of machines and tooling
  • Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and G.D.&T.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for set up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts, instrument, and finished products per specified tolerances on prints.
  • May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.
  • Continuously improves processes and delivers conforming quality products and services to internal/external customers
  • Responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines and tooling associated with CNC machining
  • Maintains a safe work environment
  • Participates in all required meetings and training
  • Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
