JEM - Machinist
About The Position
At Jasper Electric Motors, the Machinist is responsible for operating manual lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines. They will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. This role may also involve fabricating and modifying parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The position also includes performing other duties and projects as designated by the supervisor, with parameters that are indicative of average requirements and not inclusive of all possible operational, safety, or environmental factors.
Requirements
- Operating manual lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, and milling machines.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.
- Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
