About The Position

We are currently looking for a Machinist for our manufacturing facility in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania. Our Machinists are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring large industrial equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for reviewing samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job. Select appropriate machines to complete job. And preform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages. In order to become successful, you’ll have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing equipment/systems, and our maintenance program. A successful Machinist is a problem-solver and strong with troubleshooting, determining corrective actions, and identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiencies without compromising quality. Workplace safety is a core value and Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in our safe operation and processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years of machinist experience in a manufacturing, military, or other industrial environment.
  • Vo-Tech or 2 year associates degree in relevant studies.
  • Ability to run CNC equipment, preferably MAZAK
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communication skill with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong ability to work independently without direction, and as part of a team
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other materials
  • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
  • Taking measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping.
  • Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
  • Selecting appropriate machines to complete job.
  • Performing routine machine maintenance and repairing minor damages.
  • Working knowledge using metal lathe, milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, metal break and metal shear, metal forming, acetylene torches, blanchard grinding and metal cutting saws.
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial machinery, work tools, and equipment.
  • Performing both uptime and downtime preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule.
  • Following all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment is operating in a safe manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation.
  • Participating in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work.
  • Operating fork trucks and cranes, etc.
  • Providing assistance in operating functions/areas.
