About The Position

Set-up and operate CNC machines by reading and interpreting part prints, setting up and securing work pieces and tooling, verifying machine systems and tool sequence, setting cutting tools, programming to part prints, machining work pieces, checking finished work pieces, deburring, and prepping for assembly. Use of skills in blueprint reading, material preparation, use of machine shop equipment, finishing of details, and all other tasks related to the manufacturing of all machined components.

Requirements

Grade 12 O.S.S.D. or equivalent
Must possess own tools for daily tasks (ex. micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.)
Utilizing any company provided tools with care and proper housekeeping.
Knowledge of machining equipment, including Haas; also including milling, grinding, and overhead cranes
Strong mechanical problem solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to maintain production scheduling deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of five (5) years experience in a machine shop using CNC equipment would be an asset.

Responsibilities

To work in a clean, safe, and organized manner, as outlined in the Health and Safety Program; this includes crane training and use, as well as material handling.
Verify and identify materials for size, shape, and type to ensure that the material selected is correct for the application according to engineering drawings and instructions.
Operate and use machine shop CNC equipment for the purpose of manufacturing all machined components.
Use all measuring and checking skills to verify that all machined components are correct to blueprints dimensions.
Finish and bench all details for the preparation of assembly.
Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
Arrives to work, meetings, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
