About The Position

The Machinist operates various CNC and manual machines to repair jet engine aerospace parts or create tooling from sketches, drawings, and work instructions provided by engineers or a supervisor. The role may also involve production work on CNC machines. Candidates with relevant experience or skills may receive additional training on specific machines. The position is based at PROENERGY’s facility at 2001 Proenergy Blvd., Sedalia, Missouri. It reports to the Machinist Supervisor. Requirements

High school diploma and a two-year technical trade degree, or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program. On-the-job training is also acceptable if the applicant can discuss or demonstrate acquired skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Fluency in spoken, read, and written English.
U.S. work authorization; candidates requiring sponsorship for a work-authorized visa will not be considered.
Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience with one or more of the following: manual lathe and Bridgeport; electrostatic discharge machines; CNC vertical machining centers; vertical turret lathe (VTL); CNC horizontal boring machine; CNC horizontal mill with pallet changer; CNC lathe; Fanuc controls; Siemens controls; or interpreting G and M code.

Responsibilities

Use setup tools such as edge finders, indicators, and dial gauges.
Set up various manual and CNC machines according to written or verbal instructions.
Use measuring equipment to support quality requirements.
Review and interpret complex work instructions, processes, and blueprints, and ask clarifying questions.
Plan, coordinate, and carry out projects of varying complexity from start to finish, depending on skill set.
Maintain machine and operator conformance for production parts.
Communicate discrepancies and non-conformances to the immediate lead.
