Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of machining experience (or equivalent training/apprenticeship preferred)
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Ability to proficiently interpret measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to stand for extended hours
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise & moving machinery
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements for assembly fixtures, etc.
  • Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining methods for each project
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance for check gauges and/or fixtures
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to optimize production processes
  • Assist production with fixturing modifications or repairs when required to meet the daily rate
