Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
2+ years of machining experience (or equivalent training/apprenticeship preferred)
Proficiency reading blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Ability to proficiently interpret measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
Basic computer skills
Ability to stand for extended hours
Ability to lift 30 pounds
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise & moving machinery
Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements for assembly fixtures, etc.
Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining methods for each project
Monitor machine operations and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances
Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Perform routine maintenance for check gauges and/or fixtures
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to optimize production processes
Assist production with fixturing modifications or repairs when required to meet the daily rate
