About The Position

The Machinist sets up and operates a variety of computer-controlled and mechanically controlled equipment to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools. This role involves fabricating new machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances using manual or CNC milling machines, lathes, and/or surface grinders. The position requires reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and ensuring finished parts meet quality standards. The Machinist will also troubleshoot machinery, participate in rebuilding/building functions of equipment, maintain a clean workspace, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate with team members to optimize manufacturing processes. Continuous learning and staying updated on machining advancements are expected, along with the ability to work in a team environment and maintain regular attendance. Overtime is required as business needs dictate.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Machinist Apprenticeship Certification
3+ Years of Machinist Experience
Blueprint reading experience.
Metalworking and CAD/CAM read engineering drawings.
Skilled with variety of welding and cutting tools.
Programming and function of CNC machines.

Responsibilities

Fabricates new machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances using manual or CNC milling machines, lathes, and or surface grinders.
Reads blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand specifications and tolerances.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
Selects the appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
Measures and inspects finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and precise measurements.
Adjusts machine settings to control speed, feed, and other variables.
Troubleshoots issues with machinery and makes necessary repairs or adjustments.
Participates in rebuilding/building functions of equipment.
Maintains a clean and organized workspace, including routine machine maintenance.
Adheres to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Collaborates with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
Continuously learns and stays updated on advancements in machining technology and techniques.
Ability to work in a team environment & maintain regular attendance.
Must be able to work overtime as business need dictates.
