About The Position

The Plant Machinist supports the tool and die needs of the production and maintenance departments. The normal work week is approximately 50 hours when business demands require overtime, and weekends are scheduled as needed based on production demands. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Basic skills operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, and bench and surface grinders.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other standard machine shop measuring devices.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Two years of industrial machinist experience.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position; unscheduled absences or tardiness negatively affect production objectives.

Nice To Haves

• CNC experience.
• Tool making experience.
• An associate degree in a Machine Tool field.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to construct, maintain, repair, and alter tooling, machinery, and machine parts.
• Enter work-related data into Oracle.
• Follow ISO procedures related to the job function.
• Inspect own work and prepare inspection reports.
• Actively participate in the shop 5S program.
