About The Position

HiFyve is hiring Machinists for a leading Manufacturing company! This role involves operating CNC lathes and mills, performing setups and programming, making adjustments to maintain quality and production, troubleshooting issues, and working with various CNC controls. The position requires interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and G & M codes, as well as using precision measuring instruments. It also includes participating in continuous improvement efforts and working effectively with a manufacturing team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with CNC lathes and mills.
  • Experience operating 3–5 axis CNC machines.
  • Experience with CNC programming, machine setup, program editing, troubleshooting, and machine adjustments.
  • Experience with Okuma, Fanuc, and/or Haas CNC controls.
  • Strong understanding of G & M codes, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to perform multiple CNC setups and changeovers throughout the workday.
  • Ability to make tool offsets and process adjustments to maintain part quality.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC machines and resolving machining, tooling, and production issues.
  • Knowledge of metalworking tools, tooling, workholding, and common machining practices.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, and indicators.
  • Ability to interpret machine programming and anticipate machine actions and movements.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to support other departments, functional groups, or shifts as business needs require.
  • Ability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around machinery and production equipment.
  • Ability to work around noise, chemicals, lights/lasers, and other manufacturing conditions.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area while safely operating manufacturing equipment.

  • Senior-level machining experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and mills within the assigned manufacturing cell.
  • Perform CNC machine setups and programming to support production requirements.
  • Perform multiple machine setups throughout the day, including changeovers and adjustments.
  • Make tool offsets and machine adjustments to maintain part quality and production requirements.
  • Edit and adjust CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes, quality, and cycle time.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machine and machining issues affecting production or part quality.
  • Operate and troubleshoot 3–5 axis CNC equipment.
  • Work with CNC controls including Okuma, Fanuc, and Haas.
  • Clear and correct common machine alarms and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Perform repetitive inspection of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T requirements, machine programming, work instructions, SOPs, and technical information.
  • Interpret G & M codes and make appropriate machine adjustments.
  • Monitor machine operation and use feed rate and spindle speed overrides as needed.
  • Assist with program prove-out, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve cycle time, quality, and production capability.
  • Monitor and assist with production flow to meet established requirements.
  • Assist with training machine operators on assigned duties and processes.
  • Maintain machines, tools, equipment, and work surfaces in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all applicable quality, safety, environmental, and production procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Work effectively with machine operators, engineers, supervisors, and other manufacturing team members.
  • Support additional manufacturing projects and responsibilities as assigned.
