About The Position

Under general supervision, sets up and operates a limited number of standard machine tools. Works from prints using a variety of hand and precision measuring instruments; determines machine feed speeds to perform precision machining operations on a variety of components.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
2-4 years relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of basic math
Demonstrated gross and fine motor skills
Demonstrated knowledge of precision measuring tools
Demonstrated competence in basic math
Able to read/understand engineering drawings
Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

Aware of and consistently follows all shop safety protocols and regulations.
Perform raw stock order filling using horizontal and vertical band saws, abrasive cut-off machines, shears, and hand tools.
Competently and safely uses the hoists within the department.
Responsible for keeping cutting equipment operable by changing cut-off abrasive wheels, band saw blades, etc.
Perform deburring parts Buffer-Tumbler-Under-Scope-Bench work.
Performs less complete machine operations using a limited number of machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, power saws, shears, grinders, punch presses, honing machines, etc.
Change and/or sharpen cutting tool during operations with supervision.
Maintain tolerances using dial indicators, micrometers, pin gauges and other measuring equipment.
Perform duties in accordance with Facilities Workmanship Standards and Aid Manual.
Make simple setups with supervision.
Communicate any known operation process irregularities to supervisor.
Maintains work area and tools in a clean and orderly manner daily.
