About The Position

The Machinist Trainee position is an entry-level role designed to train individuals in the operation, setup, and maintenance of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment. Under the supervision of experienced machinists, trainees will learn to interpret technical drawings, use precision measuring instruments, and follow safety protocols. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing or metalworking.

Requirements

  • Read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Able to sit and or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to use a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to retain information.
  • Must have legible handwriting.
  • Dependability: Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
  • Take responsibility for own actions.
  • Identify process improvements.
  • Requires minimal supervision to perform everyday tasks.
  • Demonstrates strong independent thinking with problem solving skills.
  • Support company/management decisions.
  • Offers help when needed.
  • Understanding of the effects of process deviation.
  • Able to advise management of policy violations.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • No experience required

  • Work cooperatively with all employees.
  • Willingness to adapt work schedule to company needs.
  • Attendance / Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Following company handbook policy and companies cell phone policy.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
  • Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a level I machinist role.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
