Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of four major machine groups: Lathes, Milling Machines, Grinders, and Drills through a formal apprenticeship program or extensive experience.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and the ability to machine parts to close tolerances.
High school diploma/GED or education equivalent.
Customer focused.
2 years experience required in general machinist work and successful completion of a trade test.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid US driver's license (revoked, suspended, or expired is not considered valid).
Must pass a 10-year background check.
Must be willing to take a pre-placement physical, skills assessment test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen.
Candidate must clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to acquire and retain credentials vital for the position.
Position-specific clearances may include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal service clearances.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
Successful completion of interview and assessment required to meet job qualification.
Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position.

Responsibilities

Work in the fast-paced Technical Operation department.
Play a very important role in providing service to our internal customers.
Perform repairs and manufacture parts daily.
Read and interpret blueprints and ARs/ Rus.
Set up, operate, and function competently as a machinist on at least two of the following machine tool types: Grinder – Precision internal and external, CNC and conventional; Lathes – Engine and vertical, CNC and conventional; Milling Machines – Horizontal boring mills and vertical milling machines, CNC and conventional; Hand Blending – High Strength Steel, Exotic Materials; Honing – Automatic and hand.
Perform Bushing Installation and bench work.
Train on all machine tools and machining processes performed in the landing gear focus repair cell.
Participate in cross training and classroom training as an ongoing process.
Work around-the-clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, outdoors in all weather conditions.
