About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site Machinist Technician position in Ft. Worth, TX. The role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills to produce precision aerospace components that meet engineering and quality requirements. The technician will work on the 2nd shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM, Mon–Fri) after completing initial training on the first shift. Collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams is expected to improve processes and meet delivery goals. The work directly impacts product conformity, throughput, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of CNC lathe machining experience in a high-technology or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Ability to set up and run a minimum of five CNC machine types
  • Experience operating and editing CNC programs at the machine; mill experience is a plus
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, complex drawings, and GD&T
  • Experience with precision inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gages) and ability to use or be required to use a CMM
  • Working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics (may include trigonometry)
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and follow calibration schedules
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently in a team environment
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specific machine brands (e.g., Okuma, Mazak, Haas)
  • Formal CNC machining certifications or training (e.g., NIMS, trade school)
  • Experience with AS9100 or NADCAP standards or cleanroom environments
  • Prior experience in aerospace materials (titanium, Inconel, aluminum)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate multiple CNC lathes/mills to produce parts to blueprint specifications and work instructions
  • Create, prove out, and edit CNC programs (using I.G.F software and at-machine program editing)
  • Run multiple machines efficiently, sometimes simultaneously, and improvise tooling as needed
  • Interpret complex drawings, engineering specs, and GD&T to ensure conformance
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (gages, calipers, micrometers) and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) as required
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and ensure equipment calibration and cleanliness
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering to resolve drawing or process problems
  • Perform statistical process control (SPC) and contribute to lean/continuous improvement efforts
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members
