About The Position

This position will primarily be programming, performing setups, and in charge of operation & scheduling of work for our Citizen Swiss lathe. The Machinist will conduct all set-up and quality operations in support of machining for self and others. They will set-up and operate machines in accordance with travelers and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.). The Machinist will create, edit and/or retrieve programs from system files and execute them. They will manufacture product that meets quality requirements, inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection, and meet time and schedule standards for assigned tasks. The role also involves properly using the E2 management system to record job information, advising supervision of issues that arise, identifying issues and opportunities in meeting cost requirements of assigned work, and identifying set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities and communicating them to proper 6S team leads. Additionally, the Machinist will keep equipment clean and maintain proper fluid levels, and return all fixtures and tooling upon job completion.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Citizen Swiss Lathe
  • A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Self starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge and use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments; Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales
  • Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on other various machines
  • Basic math skills, to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
  • Meet the required delivery dates for all assigned jobs
  • Meet customer delivery requirements
  • Meet quality requirements of all assigned processes
  • Conduct all operations in a safe manner
