Requirements

5–10 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment.
2–3 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent on‑the‑job training.
Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM and CREO Manufacturing software.
DOE Q‑Clearance (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

Manage a group of Machinists and Senior Machinists to ensure schedules are met and production goals achieve positive variances.
Report project status and progress to management as needed.
Maintain strong communication and seamless collaboration with design, manufacturing, operations, and testing teams.
Set up and operate machines to verify performance, capability, and conformance to customer specifications.
Interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specs, handbook formulas, layouts, and apply shop math (including trigonometry and descriptive geometry).
Use all precision measuring tools—calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators—to ensure part quality and configuration.
Select and install tools, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment, identifying and correcting faulty tools when needed.
Monitor machining systems, including mechanical, electrical/electronic diagnostics, cutter data, probes, and sensors to adjust machine performance.
Maximize machine capacity while reducing setups and machining time.
Perform bench work and finishing operations to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Analyze drawings and specifications to plan machining operations and build sequences.
Ensure alignment, tolerances, finishes, and functionality meet engineering and manufacturing standards.
