About The Position
Charter Casting is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as a Pattern Maker. This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you will be responsible for building or repairing tooling according to stated requirements, reading blueprints, operating machinery, and ensuring work meets precision standards. The company is a fourth-generation, family-owned business with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, innovation, and employee development.
Requirements
- Basic machining skills with drill press, band saws, measuring tools
- Ability to use precision measuring devices (Calipers)
- Basic math skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Team player - works well with others.
- Ability to follow instructions and has attention to detail
- Basic problem-solving and reading skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication skills - written and oral
Nice To Haves
- Experience with hand tools, grinders and welding capability.
Responsibilities
- Complete work order requests to build or repair tooling according to stated requirements using blueprints or other written instructions.
- Read blueprints and follow exact specifications when creating a pattern.
- Operate the necessary machinery for pattern creation and shape pieces of the casting to create a final product.
- Follow written instructions on for rigging core boxes for core making lines and mount and gating patterns for molding lines.
- Use precision measurement instruments to ensure work produced meets requirements.
