About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a CNC Machinist that will be based in their Bossier City, LA plant. In this role, the individual will operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts. NABRICO Marine Products, Inc., is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways, including dry cargo barges (flat-deck and hopper barges for grain, coal, and aggregates) and tank barges (for petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes). The company is also the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers and provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, such as hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Requirements

• An understanding of shop math and the ability to read and verify specifications

Nice To Haves

• Certified in CNC or 2 to 5 years of previous equipment operation experience

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts
• Prepare by checking specifications and blueprints, calculating how to shape the material, and setting equipment controls
• Monitor speed and heat of machining equipment
• Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Operate HAAS and Mazak CNC lathes and mills
