This role involves operating machinery to produce quality parts in a timely manner, meeting standards set forth by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality. The position requires continuous visual concentration to develop and maintain tolerances, and the ability to ensure all characteristics generated are conforming through applicable inspection techniques. The machinist will perform setup and operation of equipment based on drawings and method sheets, and may be required to supplement this information with their own job knowledge. Minor maintenance on machines may be necessary. On a temporary basis, the machinist may be required to train operators on specific equipment they are qualified to use. Maintaining an orderly work area, adhering to environmental, health, and safety requirements, and participating in a team-based environment are also key aspects of this role. This includes active participation in daily team meetings, cooperating with others, practicing direct professional communication, and being open to new ideas. Accurate timekeeping and electronic record maintenance are also required.
