Machinist, Lathe 2 - Day Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. They provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. The CNC Large Lathe Machinist 2 will set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity, 12" to 24" Dia. with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor. This role is responsible for utilizing shop paper procedures, DNC communications for tool program upload and download, inspecting and measuring parts to maintain statistics, and reading blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum three to five years’ work experience
- Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
Nice To Haves
- Enrolled in or vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity, 12" to 24" Dia. with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor.
- Utilize shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
- Responsible for DNC communications upload and download tool program.
- Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistics.
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
