About The Position

DPP is seeking a Machinist III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. This is a 12-month W2 contract position located onsite in Lake Charles, LA. The role requires the ability to work either the Mon-Thurs 6:00 AM - 4:42 PM shift or the Mon-Thurs 4:00 PM - 2:42 AM shift, with potential for overtime on weekends. The position requires the candidate to be a US Citizen.

Requirements

6 years of experience as a machinist
CNC experience operating HAAS or Fanuk
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
Use a variety of machinist hands tools and precision measuring instruments.
Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of tooling, feeds, and speeds.
Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine materials, parts, and equipment required.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
