About The Position

Planning and sequencing of progressive operations for the layout and setting up of various conventional machinery. Plans the sequence of progressive operations by working from blueprints, sketches and other documents. Uses blueprints or design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish jobs. Sets up machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning and securing work, utilizing and adapting existing tooling and other machining aids. Determines operations to be performed, dimensions, tolerances, cutting tools to be used to minimize required machining operations. Determines, sets and adjusts feeds, speeds, depths, stops and performs minor maintenance, as necessary. May direct and lead others.
