Performs a variety of machining operations such as milling, drilling, lathes, etc., on existing parts ranging from intermediate to complex, in nature. Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications. Checks work to ensure dimensions are within prescribed tolerances using a variety of measuring devices. Machines / Modifies work holding fixtures and tooling. Provides input with determining sequence of operations, methods of setup, and machine tool programming. Possesses a solid understanding of the working qualities of various materials (e.g. plastics, stainless steels, aluminum and titanium). Reports discrepancies to supervisor and makes constructive suggestions that may improve production efficiency, profitability and or safety. May provide general assembly functions, as needed. May assist with weekly cycle counts. Train Level I machinists, as directed. Aid/assist advanced machinists as directed. Follows all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements. Overtime, as required. Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
