We are seeking a Machinist to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the production of company equipment using machine shop tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines, following pre-established procedures related to the equipment required depending on the assigned area. This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret diagrams and drawings with tight tolerance specifications to manufacture and cut parts
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, digital readouts, and high-precision indicators
  • Perform own setups to achieve high-precision finished products
  • Operate internal and external grinding hydraulic semi-automatic machines
  • Operate semi-automatic milling machines
  • Perform setups on high-precision semi-automatic lathes
  • Receive and utilize fixtures and accessories to improve setups
  • Conduct high-precision gauging and calibration activities
  • Create and sharpen cutting tools in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Measure components using high-precision equipment
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality
  • Produce the required quantity of high-quality work
  • Follow safety rules and maintain an organized work area
  • Accurately report work performed
  • Keep equipment and surrounding areas clean and organized
  • Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) training as scheduled
  • Actively support organizational efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and objectives
  • Recommend improvements to EH&S practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
