About The Position

The Machinist II will perform machining tasks (Grinding, Turning, Milling) to tight tolerance, minimize scrap and rework, perform PMs on a regular basis, lead machine safety and workplace compliance requirements, maintain an inventory of tooling and fixtures, work effectively with vendors in ordering and acquiring tooling. This position is approximately 60% running multiple machines and 40% setups and support of operators.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 4 or more years of experience with CNC and Conventional machines and equipment
  • Knowledge of product quality concepts, ISO principles, and GD&T
  • Intermediate computer skills, including SAP or similar ERP systems and MS Office
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and Metrology
  • Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Must qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple CNC and conventional machines and/or equipment
  • Evaluate equipment needs and ensure suitable replacement parts are available
  • Make process suggestions for programming new and existing product
  • Prioritize production orders or processing requirements and respond accordingly
  • Setup, run, inspect, clean orders, as needed
  • Train other employees on proper equipment operation and/or setup
  • Perform machining tasks (Grinding, Turning, Milling) to tight tolerance
  • Minimize scrap and rework
  • Perform PMs on a regular basis
  • Lead machine safety and workplace compliance requirements
  • Maintain an inventory of tooling and fixtures
  • Work effectively with vendors in ordering and acquiring tooling
