About The Position

The Machinist II position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components. This role operates manual, CNC, or EDM machines, changes and adjusts precision tools, loads and deletes programs, makes minor adjustments to feeds and speeds, grinds cutting tools, maintains specific tolerances, checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures, performs routine maintenance, and maintains an orderly work area. The position also requires adherence to safety rules and may involve assisting with training other employees.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry

Responsibilities

Operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
Loads and deletes programs in the computer
Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions
Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
Maintains a neat and orderly work area
Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
Assists with related training of other employees as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
