Candidate will produce parts using standard machining processes.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent and trade school diploma in Machining/Machining Science.
0 to 3 years work history.
Capable of controlling the operations of equipment or systems used to produce machined products.
Monitoring of gauges, dials and/or other indicators to ensure proper machine operations.
Capable of using mathematics to solve problems.
The ability to select the right tool for the job.
Capable of producing product from engineering drawing.
Experienced in the use of precision measurement instruments.
Basic knowledge of raw materials used in the machining industry.
Ability to inspect work area for any potential safety hazards prior to beginning operations.
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
On occasion must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision measurement instruments.
Fabricate assemblies or subassemblies using machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders.
Measure and examine complete products to ensure product meets drawing and customer requirements.
Make adjustments of a minor nature on basic machine tools.
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials onto machines.
Monitor the feed and speed machines during the machining process.
Evaluate the machining process to ensure that the area is clear of all potential hazards.
Ensure all PPE is in place prior to beginning the machining process.
