About The Position

The role involves operating various machinery and equipment in a standard production/manufacturing environment. The machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, verifying part accuracy, performing routine maintenance, and working effectively within a team.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Have own machinist tools.
Ability to follow verbal and written work instruction.
Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.
Must be able to work in a highly functioning team environment.

Nice To Haves

Completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
Manual Machining: 3 years (Preferred).
Solidworks preferred.
Mastercam preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a variety of machinery and equipment such as manual lathes, mills, grinders, hand tools, and power tools.
Operate a manual lathe including single point threading and operating a manual mill.
Understand and apply the fundamentals of cutting - speeds and feeds, blade selection, etc.
Verify accuracy of machined parts against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring with inspection tooling and gauges.
Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Perform routine machine maintenance.
Utilize working knowledge of conversational programming.
Utilize working knowledge of 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred.
Utilize CAM software, Mastercam preferred.
Perform all other tasks assigned.
