About The Position

The Machinist is responsible for running multiple CNC machines efficiently. In order to ensure proper function, machinist review equipment regularly to report any equipment malfunctions, tooling issues, conduct general maintenance tasks while following all safety precautions. This position is 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machines, preferably horizontal machining centers.
  • Experience with setup, tooling adjustments, and interpreting CNC programs.
  • Familiarity with inspecting parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Basic math and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance practices and troubleshooting common issues.
  • Computer literacy for CNC program loading and data entry.
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on quality.
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for lifting and handling parts and tools.
  • Problem-solving mindset for quickly addressing tooling or machine issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or vocational coursework in machining, manufacturing, or CNC operation preferred.
  • Certification in CNC machining or related field (e.g., NIMS – National Institute for Metalworking Skills) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC Horizontal machining centers.
  • Load and unload work fixtures, devices, tools and programs.
  • Adjusting cutting tools, as required.
  • Follow standard work processes and record data.
  • Operate and interpret a variety of inspection tools.
  • Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
