About The Position

Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Machinist I responsible to manufacture precision parts needed for the construction, maintenance, repair, or alteration of conveyors, processing equipment, structures, etc., using: mills, lathes, drill press, radial arm drill, hand drill, grinders and hand tools. This position offers the chance to contribute to one of the world’s largest carrot and organic vegetable grower, packer, and shippers. Requirements

• Basic knowledge and some experience with vertical milling machines, engine lathes, drill presses and hand tools, required.
• Understanding of machine and tool functions, including their design, repair and maintenance procedures, required.
• Strong math skills, required
• Must be able to perform precise measurements and have attention to detail.
• Must follow company policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout and proper PPE use.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends, required.
• Occasional local travel will be required depending on business need.
• Ability to read and understand written information in English, required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company policy, insurance, and DMV requirements.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment screening consistent with applicable state and federal law.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Forklift Certificate, preferred.
• General knowledge of material and labor estimates, metals machinability, and use of metal alloys and other materials, preferred.
• Familiarity with design techniques involving principals in the production of precision technical parts from drawings and/or samples, preferred.
