About The Position

This position is directly responsible for machining quality components to stated specifications and protecting machine tools from damage. It requires a high degree of independent thinking, attention to detail, and resourcefulness to translate specifications into component requirements and apply best practices effectively. The role involves working under direct supervision, receiving guidance on technical and scheduling challenges, and ensuring the accuracy of machined components.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED
Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in addition to key performance objectives.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work in shop environment.
Basic PC skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated.
Demonstrated math skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Good organization, interpersonal, and interaction skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated adaptability to unplanned events and changing priorities.
Ability to learn to read and use measuring instruments.

Nice To Haves

Previous machining experience preferred.
Previous inspection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn to effectively retrieve, understand, and adhere to QAP documentation.
Gain ability to use technical tools and instruments required to perform duties, including Calipers, Micrometers, and Gauges.
Gain ability to properly read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
Gain ability to identify simple deviations in material requirements.
Gain ability to demonstrate fixturing, tool and machine offsets.
Gain the ability to read and interpret set-up documentation.
Gain ability to perform basic preventative maintenance/autonomous maintenance.
Develop and demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
Learn and understand 5S principles.
Ability to train on a basic two-axis lathe or a saw.
Willingness to receive on the job training.
