This role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC machines under supervision. The machinist will read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings, performing machining operations from drawings and written work instructions. They will measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments, utilize basic mathematical skills for measurements, and document production data, reporting deviations. The position requires assuming responsibility for part quality, utilizing standard and customer measuring equipment for dimensional checks, blueprint reading, and offsets, and adhering to quality processes including in-process inspections. Routine maintenance and cleaning of machines, maintaining a clean work area to 6S standards, and loading/unloading products and fixtures are also key responsibilities. The role demands working safely according to safety guidelines, protocols, and SOPs, reporting nonconforming parts, and collaborating with team members. Continuity between shifts through communication is essential. Job assignments are obtained from a supervisor or manager, and other duties as assigned may be performed.
