About The Position

Spencer Composites Corporation (SCC), a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Bow Systems, Inc., is expanding its team in Sacramento, CA. We are seeking skilled Machinists – Composite Manufacturing to join our innovative and dynamic team. This role is critical to ensuring the success of our composite manufacturing operations, with a focus on precision machining and programming. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining and programming.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including mills and lathes.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or technical certifications preferred.
  • Experience in composite machining is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce high-quality components.
  • Set up and calibrate CNC equipment to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Inspect machined components during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identify and address any defects or deviations promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining processes and quality checks.
  • Analyze machining processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Work closely with other machinists, engineers, and production staff to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Assist in training new team members on CNC machining techniques and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficient operations.
