About The Position

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, Inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work where needed in the machining department
  • Must be able to support other departments as and when needed
  • Follows work instructions, point cards and communicates defects appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.
  • Follows the STOP, CALL, WAIT procedures
  • Responsible for completing the planned production quantities as required.
  • Achieves the planned production quantities as required by: Communicating issues to the line lead or supervisor immediately, Following work instructions, Working as a team and promoting teamwork, Preventing interruptions to work flow and productivity, Suggesting improvements to productivity, quality, safety etc.
  • Reports safety incidents or near misses, issues with equipment or quality concerns, and workflow interruptions.
  • Reports monthly “Ask Here” to help make Astemo Rock Spring better

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships
  • Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Preferred 2 years of experience with forklift operations.

Responsibilities

  • Visual quality check of raw cast aluminum products
  • Visual quality check of machined aluminum products
  • Loading of raw cast aluminum product into manual CNC machine
  • Unloading of machined product from CNC machine
  • Loading conveyor with machined aluminum products
  • End of shift area clean up – or as needed
  • Must be able to work where needed in the machining department
  • Must be able to support other departments as and when needed
  • Fill in as “Step-Up” Line Leader when assigned Line Leader is absent
  • Assist any line leaders, supervisors, managers in other tasks assigned.
  • Report for additional work to the immediate supervisor if all tasks are complete.
  • Work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
  • Promotes a safety first attitude and provides safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include: Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO (lock out tag out), Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others.
  • Maintain work areas to ensure safe and clean working conditions.
  • When possible correct unsafe work conditions immediately.
  • Ensures the in process and the final product meets customer and Astemo Rock Spring quality specifications.
  • Follows work instructions, point cards and communicates defects appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.
