About The Position

Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is currently seeking an ME Technician to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility. The department one Machining Tech is a machining subject matter expert that is responsible for programming, proving out, and implementing machining processes that will impact production throughout the facility. In this role, you will be expected to fluently program CNC controllers, edit GNM code and run Lathes/Mills, identify tooling, design fixture and complete standard work. You will be responsible for understanding various work processes and assisting the manufacturing Engineer with projects within the department.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of reading machining and engineering prints
  • Minimum 5+ years of manual machine set up experience and fixture installation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or certificate in relevant machining
  • Experience with operating Mazak, Doosan, Ganesh, or Hardinge machines
  • Experience programming Fanuc or Mazak controllers and editing G&M code
  • Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software

Responsibilities

  • Assist or lead the training and development of other machinists as assigned
  • Maintain setup sheet for mills and lathes and other standard work documents
  • Curate the electronic copies of the standard work documents
  • Make program adjustments for CNC machines
  • Download & edit programs from network system (DNC) into machines or similar program
  • Responsible for first line trouble shooting of lathes and mills
  • Operate and maintain multiple types of lathes and mills for trial runs, and fixturing creation
  • Assist Quality and Engineering teams with troubleshooting and new product development
  • Partner with production planning to align various work centers to meet production demands based upon lead times for components
  • Coordinate procurement of tooling and fixturing
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and general maintenance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and follow general housekeeping (5S+) standard
